The ifm efector PerformanceLine Ethernet Switch is a line of durable 6-port unmanaged switches made for on-machine installation, eliminating the need for a control cabinet system. What sets them apart from the StandardLine series is the 5-pin L-coded M12 power connection: a power IN and a power OUT port let you daisy-chain the supply to other devices, with up to 16 A each on the US and UA circuits. Each switch has six M12 D-coded Ethernet ports. The 8 to 32 VDC accepted power supply and wide operating range of -25 to 70°C make them ideal for mobile machines, as well as factory automation.

The AL3100 and AL3101 are built for PROFINET Conformance Class A networks. The AL3150 and AL3151 work with TCP/IP, EtherNet/IP and Modbus TCP, suitable for general automation and IIoT. The AL3100 and AL3150 have an orange polyamide housing with nickel-plated brass sockets for harsh industrial areas, including exposure to coolant emulsions and cleaning fluids. The AL3101 and AL3151 feature a grey housing enclosure with 316L stainless steel sockets and EPDM seals, with IP69K rated protection for food and beverage washdown applications.
