Description
The ifm efector SUC301 Ultrasonic Flow Meter non-invasively monitors the flow rate and temperature of liquid media. It detects the volumetric flow based on the measuring principle of ultrasonic transit time difference. The SUC301 also detects the medium temperature, and displays the current process values.
The unit can be operated in SIO mode (standard input-out) or in IO-Link mode with user-friendly communication and parameterization. The device generates two output signals according to the parameter setting. Options for both outputs include switching signal flow, switching signal temperature, switching signal diagnosis (direction of flow or signal quality), switching signal totalizer, pulse signal totalizer, and OFF (output switched to high impedance). Additional options for OUT1 include frequency signal flow, frequency signal temperature, and IO-link. Additional options for OUT2 include analog signal flow, analog signal temperature, and input for external totalizer reset.
The SUC301 also includes self-diagnostic options:
- Automatic detection of pipe wall thickness during initial installation
- Monitoring of the flow direction
- Monitoring of the signal quality
- Indication of warnings and error messages
The device indicates all self-diagnostic options through the operating status color LED. A guided installation and simulation mode enable simplified setup of the sensor. Automatic zero-point calibration allows adaptation to the application and increases measurement accuracy.
