Chilled mirror dew point meters, also known as hygrometers, are amongst the most accurate humidity meters available. This accuracy and the inherent long term stability of chilled mirrors provide many advantages over other humidity measurement technologies.

How do chilled mirror dew point hygrometers work? Chilled mirror hygrometers work by passing a sample of air or gas across a temperature controlled mirror. The temperature of the mirror is reduced until the sample begins to condense on the mirror surface indicting the dew point temperature. Moisture content of the sample can be calculated from the dew point temperature. This process results in highly precise measurements without long term drift.
