Description

The MTL F800 Series redundant Fieldbus power supplies are designed to provide redundant power for up to eight Foundation fieldbus H1 segments and are suitable for use with all fieldbus systems. They are optimized for use in general purpose and hazardous area high energy trunk architectures which, with the appropriate FieldPlus wiring components, supports fieldbus devices using all hazardous area protection techniques. The power supplies are designed to optimize cabinet layouts, achieving the maximum number of fieldbus segments powered per cabinet while providing space for installing and maintaining cable connections and reducing the operating temperature. The F809F-Plus physical layer Fieldbus Diagnostics Module may be installed on any 9180 carrier to automatically collect and distribute additional diagnostic information for each of the eight fieldbus segments.

The F800 range represented the industry's first eight-segment, high density fieldbus power supply. The module carriers provide wire terminations for eight fieldbus segments as well as mounting two F801 or F802 power supply modules. The F801 power supply modules provide eight outputs of 21.5V and 350mA. The F802 power supply modules provide eight outputs of 28V and 500mA for applications with fieldbus trunk lengths greater than 600m or heavily loaded fieldbus barrier applications. Both options ensure that one Fieldbus terminator is included for each segment. The F800 carriers themselves are completely free of electronic components to maximize their MTBF and system availability.

The F810A is designed for Foxboro EVO control systems, and the F811 is designed for Foxboro I/A Series control systems. Both systems provide redundant Foundation fieldbus power using FBM228 modules. Eight fieldbus segments are supported. The F810A comprises a baseplate that accommodates two redundant pairs of Foxboro FBM228 modules and two F801 or F802 power modules. The F811 comprises a carrier that accommodates two F801 or F802 power modules. In both systems, failure alarms, galvanic isolation, power conditioning and segment termination are incorporated into each F80x module. In applications requiring simplex power, a single F80x module may be used.

The F860 provides redundant power for eight Foundation fieldbus H1 segments when used with Honeywell Experion "Series C" Fieldbus Interface Modules (FIMs). The module carrier complies with the mechanical and electrical requirements of 11.6 inch I/O Termination Assemblies (IOTAs), for direct fitting into Honeywell mounting channel. Power is provided by two F801 or F802 modules. Failure alarms, galvanic isolation, power conditioning and segment termination are incorporated into each F80x module. In simplex applications, a single F80x module may be used. Termination of the fieldbus segments is automatically maintained when single or redundant F80x modules are fitted.

The F880 provides redundant power for eight Foundation fieldbus H1 segments when used with Yokogawa ALF111 fieldbus cards. The F880 module carrier has system connectors for direct connection to two redundant pairs of fieldbus cards using Yokogawa AKB336 cables.

The F890 and F892 systems provide redundant power for eight Foundation fieldbus H1 segments when used with the Emerson DeltaV or another non-proprietary cabled fieldbus system.
