The PIECAL 520B & 521B thermocouple sources simulate standard thermocouple curves over the entire industrial temperature range. Both units provide a precise, economical, easy to use thermocouple source for checkout and calibration of all thermocouple instruments—including transmitters, recorders, controllers, alarms, data acquisition, and computer systems—in the field, shop or control room
The PIECAL 520B & 521B thermocouple sources work with the thermocouples you use including types J, K, T, E, R, S, B, N, G, C, D, L (J-DIN), U (T-DIN) and P (Platinel II). Choose the PIECAL 520B if you have only one type of thermocouple connected to your instruments or the PIECAL 521B if you have multiple types of thermocouples. Both units include a miniature thermocouple connector on the top end for fast connections and are cold-junction compensated for changes in ambient temperature.
The PIECAL 520B & 521B thermocouple sources work with both newer instruments as well as older instruments. Easily set any value quickly to within 0.1° with the adjustable digital potentiometer plus store any three temperatures for instant recall with the EZ-CHECK switch. The 520B and 521B include a backlit display with larger digits, rugged switches and a battery compartment for fast battery changes. Add an optional rubber boot with tilt stand for extra protection.

Verification of PID Controllers in a Plastics Manufacturing Plant
The Background: Our customer manufactures plastic filaments and needs a way to test the input accuracy of the PID controllers used to control the extruders which make the filaments.
The Problem: The customer was previously testing their controllers using an older style Simulator and the unit was not holding calibration.
The Solution: We recommended the PIE 521B thermocouple simulator which allows the customer to test and verify the input on all the extruders they use with great ease. The 521B includes an EZ-Dial knob that allows them to quickly test the desired test points. They are also able to now check pre-determined set points with the EZ-Check switch. This allows them to get these tests done much faster and more accurately than ever before.
