The Practical Instrument Electronics (PIE) 525B thermocouple and RTD calibrator is an automated, high accuracy instrument designed to calibrate all your thermocouple and RTD instruments and measure temperature sensors.
Compatible with all process equipment, the 525B works with thermocouple types J, K, T, E, R, S, B, N, G, C, D, L (J-DIN), U (T-DIN) and P (Platinel II) or any millivolt instrument with a range from -13.0000 to 80.0000 mV. The 525B also works with RTD types Platinum 10, 50, 100, 200, 500 & 1000 Ohm (alpha = 3850), Platinum 100 Ohm (alpha = 3902, 916, 3926), Copper 10 & 50 Ohm, and Nickel 120 Ohm or any resistance instrument from 0.000 to 400.000 and 0.00 to 4000.00 Ohms. The PIE 525B meets or exceeds the requirement of AMS 2750 as both a Secondary Standard Instrument and as a Field Test Instrument.
The PIE 525B shows test results on a large, backlit, high contrast graphic liquid crystal display. Automatic output stepping makes calibrations fast. Choose between 2, 3, 5, 11 steps and ramp to automatically increment the output in 100%, 50%, 25%, 10% or 5% of span. Select step time from 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 & 60 seconds.
The 525B is calibration lab accurate and stable. Cold junction compensation is accurate to ±0.09°F. The unit is over- voltage protected to 60 vrms. Automatic detection of 2, 3 or 4 wire connections indicates when individual wire connections are open. Verify proper instrument operation by measuring the excitation current.
