Application Notes

Here's how some of our customers used this product.

Monitoring Meat Temperatures During Smoking

The Background: Our customer is a commercial smokehouse. They seek a means to datalog the temperature of meats during the smoking and curing process.

The Problem: As a commercial foodservice company, our customer is highly concerned with maintaining their high standards of quality and consistency. They do this by performing regular quality checks and by constantly monitoring process variables, especially temperature.

The Solution: We recommended the HOBO U12 temperature data logger which has a broad temperature range (-40 to 257°F) and food-grade stainless steel housing making it ideal for food applications where high-accuracy temperature data is critical. The U12 can withstand process conditions from pasteurization to flash freezing and washdown.
