Description

The WIKA CTI5000 Infrared Calibrator is suitable for temperatures up to 932°F (500°C). Due to its stability, the new portable infrared calibrator is particularly suited to the calibration of infrared hand-held thermometers. The black body has a large diameter so that a wide variety of infrared thermometers can be tested, no matter which lenses are fitted. The emissivity is fixed at 0.95 and the temperature can be controlled in steps of 0.1 °C. To check the black body, there is a bore located directly behind the surface so that the measurement can be made with contact and the quality monitored.

Applications for the CTI5000 include:

  • Testing and calibration of non-contact temperature measuring instruments
  • Heating source for on-site laboratories for the calibration of infrared thermometers
  • On-site calibration

Applications

Here's how some of our customers use this product...

Onsite Calibrations of Handheld and Fixed IR Thermometers

The Background: Our customer is a calibration lab that wants to start offering onsite calibrations of infrared temperature sensors to their customers.

The Problem: The typical lab standards used for calibrating infrared thermometers is bulky and difficult to transport for onsite use.

The Solution: We recommended the Mensor CTI5000 Infrared Calibrator combined with a Wika CTH7000 Thermometer as a reference. The CTI5000 is a black body unit with a range of range of 50-500°C and the CTH7000 provides ±0.25°C accuracy. This combination is highly portable, providing an ideal solution for onsite IR calibrations.
