Description

The Mensor CPG2500 pressure indicator is a highly accurate instrument ideal or use in calibration laboratories and manufacturing facilities as a source for precise pressure measurement. The CPG2500 can be used to verify the accuracy of field pressure indicators/transmitters; as a pressure standard for calibration labs; as a transfer standard for remote transducers; and wherever there is a need for a high level of pressure accuracy in manufacturing, testing and calibration of pressure instruments or gauges.

The CPG2500 can be configured with 1 or 2 internal pressure transducers. The transducer channels are pneumatically isolated so that one channel can be configured for high pressures and the other for low. An optional barometric reference sensor can be added internally to display barometric pressure or used to emulate gauge or absolute pressure.

The user interface for the Mensor CPG2500 pressure indicator is a 7-inch color LCD touchscreen display. Navigation within the intuitive menu structure is easily learned. Recognizable touchscreen icons open screens for configuration and calibration. Communicating to a remote computer is achieved through RS-232, IEEE-488, USB or Ethernet. Communication commands and queries are consistent with previous Mensor digital pressure gauges.

Applications

This product can be used in the following applications:

Here's how some of our customers use this product...

Calibrating Gauges in a Nuclear Power Plant

The Background: Our customer is an energy company seeking a reliable, cost-effective means of calibrating the hundreds of pressure gauges used in one of their nuclear power plants.

The Problem: There are hundreds of pressure gauges in a nuclear power plant and the safety and efficiency of the plant, to some degree, relies upon the accuracy of these gauges. Calibrating the gauges is time consuming due to their number, making it expensive to have them done by an outside calibration company. The customer wants to begin doing their own calibrations

The Solution: We recommended the Mensor CPG2500 pressure indicator on a calibration bench paired with a PV controller and manifold plus the necessary valves and plumbing. This specific application was for calibrating portable units above 1500 psi. The CPG2500 was chosen with pressure ranges of 3,000 psi and 6,000 psi and using water as the pressure media.

Calibrating Pressure Sensors Used in a Test System for Medical Devices

The Background: Our customer is a medical component manufacturer that has designed a custom test system to leak test angioplasty balloons, catheters, tubing, and other medical devices. They seek a means to calibrate the pressure transducers used by this test system.

The Problem: The customer needs a pressure calibration instrument that provides a very high degree of confidence. The test system uses hydraulic pressure to automatically step through designated pressure points. There is a unique software program for each product that is tested on the system. The pressure transducers in the test system typically have an accuracy of 1% full scale, but because of the critical nature of the applications there is no room for error or failure in the product. Since quality control is a critical element and human life may be at risk, the company is willing to invest in premium calibration equipment to guarantee the highest level of performance and reliability.

The Solution: We recommended the Mensor CPG2500 pressure indicator a highly accurate instrument ideal or use in calibration laboratories and manufacturing facilities as a source for precise pressure measurement.

Transfer Standard for Field Calibrations

The Background: Our customer is a metrology lab that seeks to upgrade some of older the pressure indicators in their lab.

The Problem: Our customer works closely with a number of large aeronautical, engineering/technical, and research & development firms. The nature of the work done by these companies requires our customer to provide the highest precision achievable when performing calibrations for them.

The Solution: The customer had already begun using Mensor CPG2500 pressure indicators when they contacted us and were very satisfied with their performance particularly their stability. The customer has noted that, with the CPG2500, he sees minimal drift and rarely, if ever, sees one that has drifted out of tolerance.
