The Extech RPM40 tachometer is a versatile instrument that uses both photo and contact techniques to provide rotational and linear surface speed measurements. This convenient, pocket-sized meter is ideal for contact measurements of flywheels, conveyors, pumps, and elevators as well as non-contact measurements of motors, fans, and gears.

The Extech RPM40 tachometer has a range of 0.5 to 19,999 rpm for contact measurements. In contact mode the RPM40 can also measure linear surface speed from 0.2 to 6560 ft/min (or equivalent). A narrow beam laser photo tachometer can make non-contact measurements from 5 to 99,999 rpm. In non-contact mode measurements can be made up to 4.9ft (1.5m) from the target for improved safety and accessibility.
