The Extech EX230 mini digital multimeter is a ruggedly designed meter with 12 functions and a built-in infrared (IR) thermometer. The EX230 allows you to take AC and DC voltage measurements, as well as temperature measurements using the Type K temperature function. Utilizing a laser pointer to assist aiming, the built-in non-contact infrared thermometer can quickly identify hot spots on electrical panels.

Extech EX230 mini digital multimeters include a 4000-count, backlit, dual LCD with easy-to-read digits and low current capability.The Extech EX230 also measures AC/DC voltage, from 0.1mV to 600V, and AC/DC current, from 0.1µA to 10A. With a basic accuracy of ±0.05%, the EX230 also measures resistance (0.1Ω to 40MΩ), capacitance (0.01nF to 100μF), frequency (0.001Hz to 10MHz). Temperature is measured two ways, Type K and IR, with ranges of -4 to 1382°F and -5 to 446°F, respectively. The distance to target ratio for infrared measurements is 6:1.
