Description
The Kobold DUK Series Inline Ultrasonic Flow Meter is an ideal candidate for applications requiring an inline installation and where the media is not sufficiently conductive enough for a magnetic flow meter. The DUK Series features a principle of measurement that does not require moving parts or any mechanical elements for flow rate measurement, delivering a long service life, minimal maintenance, and high accuracy.
The DUK Series is available in a U-PACE electronic model that includes integral temperature measurement, IO-Link connectivity, bi-directional flow capabilities, switching and batching and transmitting functions, two configurable outputs, and a digital touch screen that rotates the display in 90 increments depending on the installation position.
The DUK Series can process moderately viscous media up to 68 cSt. Specific media and media combinations can be specified within the instrument via a software upload. It is also designed with the future in mind as the electronics are designed for easy onsite repair and replacement.
Inline ultrasonic flow meters can be a better choice than clamp-on ultrasonic flow meters for applications that have a permanent installation. Because the sensors are in direct contact with the liquid, inline installations can deliver higher accuracies. They also offer better performance for low flow rates and smaller pipe diameters. They can also offer significant cost savings over clamp-on models for smaller line sizes. Inline installations are also less sensitive to pipe wall conditions or build up.
The DUK Series offers a high turndown ratio i, making it suited for applications where the process variables produce a widely fluctuating flow rate as many flow meters are not capable of providing consistent and reliable high accuracies across a wide range of flow rates.
