Description
The FLIR C8 compact thermal imaging camera features a 320 × 240 pixel (76,800 pixels) uncooled microbolometer detector operating in the 7.5–13 μm spectral range with thermal sensitivity below 50 mK. The camera incorporates FLIR's patented MSX (Multi-Spectral Dynamic Imaging) technology, which embosses visible light details onto thermal images for enhanced problem identification. With a 35° × 27° field of view, 2.0 mrad/pixel spatial resolution, and focus-free operation from 0.4 meters minimum distance, the device measures object temperatures from -4 to 842°F with ±2°C accuracy (32-212°F range) or ±2% accuracy (212-842°F range). The integrated 5 MP visual camera with 71.5° × 56° FOV enables multiple image modes including infrared, visual, MSX, and picture-in-picture configurations.
The C8 features a 3.5-inch touchscreen display (640 × 480 pixels) with IPS technology and automatic orientation for intuitive operation. Measurement capabilities include spot temperature, box area analysis with max/min values, and isotherm threshold detection. Image adjustment functions include emissivity correction (matt/semi-matt/semi-glossy plus custom values), reflected apparent temperature, and atmospheric compensation. Six color palettes (Iron, Gray, Rainbow, Arctic, Lava, Rainbow HC) optimize visualization for different applications. Standard JPEG images with embedded 14-bit measurement data store to internal memory with capacity exceeding 5,000 image sets, plus integrated FLIR Ignite cloud connectivity via Wi-Fi for backup and sharing.
