The non-contact Raytek Raynger MX4+ infrared thermometer features an optically matched coaxial laser sight system designed to precisely and accurately outline the target measurement area. Improved optics (D:S 60:1) permits temperature measurement from any distance. Infrared thermometers from the Raytek Raynger MX4+ Series have a bar graph display automatically charts the last 10 temperature points using maximum and minimum temperature values to determine the range. The locking trigger allows continuous temperature monitoring.

A table of 30 preset materials emissivity listings are easily accessed on the Raytek Raynger MX4+ infrared thermometer. The MXsz (subzero) and MXCF (close focus) are designed for specialized applications requiring the measurement of very low temperature targets or extremely small ones. The Raytek Raynger MX4+ infrared thermometer has a temperature range of -25 to 1600°F (-30 to 900°C).

Infrared thermometers from the Raytek Raynger MX4+ Series accept K and J thermocouples, thermistors (NTC); power input and allows for data output. The MX4+ includes Windows compatible data management software, a thermocouple K probe, an RS232 computer cable, and a plug-in power supply.

The Raytek Raynger MX4+ infrared thermometer has many applications. Use your handheld Raytek Raynger MX4+ to check for hot spots in electrical panels, circuit breakers, generators, and gearboxes. You can also use this infrared thermometer to monitor supply and return registers, air stratification, and duct leakage. Other applications include food preparation and storage, industrial predictive and preventative maintenance, icing and de-icing on planes and asphalt, cold storage and walk-in refrigeration applications, electrical bench work, and power distribution troubleshooting.

The Raytek DataTemp MX software is standard to the Raytek Raynger MX4+ infrared thermometer. This graphing software enables the user to visualize, systematically maintain and analyze temperature data. The Raytek DataTemp MX software allows the user to organize, display, and print temperature and time data; store data points; record continuous or manual single-points; program time intervals, temperature scales and limits; customize log locations, and display both contact and infrared temperatures. The DataTemp MX software provides a convenient way to export temperature data files from your Raytek Raynger MX4+ infrared thermometer in a format that can be used by programs such as Access®, Excel®, and condition monitoring programs.

Infrared Temperature Measurement - Technology Explained:

Infrared thermometers measure temperature from a distance by detecting the amount of thermal electromagnetic radiation emitted from the object being measured. This allows users to accurately measure surface temperatures in hazardous or hard-to-reach places, or other situations in which non-contact temperature measurement is desirable. Infrared thermometer technology is useful in a wide range of applications – including industrial, laboratory, food service, fire fighting, hobby, and home use.

While the technology is relatively simple, the myriad of names given to these devices can be confusing. "Laser Thermometers" makes reference to the laser that helps aim the thermometer. "IR Sensors" and "IR Thermometers" make use of a common abbreviation for "infrared". "Non-Contact Thermometers" is descriptive of the device's ability to measure temperature from a distance. "Radiation Pyrometers" is a scientific/technical term for these devices.
