Here's how some of our customers use this product...

Troubleshooting Solar Arrays

The Background: Our customer is a renewable energy company that installs and maintains photo-voltaic systems for their industrial and commercial customer base. It is imperative that the system produces energy reliably over time. They seek a way to inspect installed solar cells to identify cells that are underperforming.

The Problem: Poor performance from solar cells can be caused by defective or damaged cells, loose wires, inverter issues, loose connections and other problems. Once installed, it is difficult to inspect the cells.

The Solution: We recommended the Flir T530 thermal camera. With 320 x 240 pixel resolution and an articulating lens, the T530 captures beautiful images in awkward, hard to reach areas. The on-screen analysis tools can clearly indicate temperature values which will indicate which parts of a solar cell are performing and which are not. The T530 also simplifies report generation for customer’s software and shareable direct reporting from the field with a mobile device.
