The GPI Flomec Pulse / Mechanical Flow Meters provide high accuracy, repeatability and have no requirement for flow conditioning (straight pipe runs). These Flomec small, medium and large capacity flowmeters offer a variety of rotor material options. With sizes ranging from 4mm up to 100mm these flow meters provide flow rates as low as 0.5 lph (0.16 gph) and as high as 2500 lph (gph).

The Background: A research lab associated with a major university needs a solution for measuring the flow of hot mineral oil.
The Problem: The heating and cooling of the mineral oil will change its viscosity necessitating a meter that will maintain its accuracy despite this change. The meter must also accurately measure low flow rates and be capable of handling process media temperatures up to 120˚C.
The Solution: The GPI Flowmec is an oval gear meter that will continue to measure accurately on fluids with changing viscosity. It is available with high temperature options making it suitable for media temperatures up to 150˚C. The basic electronics package has a pulse output that we paired with the Define TEX-CTR10 Panel Meter so the customer could totalize, read flow rates and output a 4-20mA signal to a data collection system.
