The Extech EX470 multimeter is a combination autoranging multimeter and infrared thermometer that is the perfect multifunction diagnostic tool. The Extech EX470 multimeter measures AC/DC voltage, AC/DC current, resistance, diode test, and continuity plus non-contact infrared temperature. The Extech EX470 multimeter includes true RMS as well as additional measurement functions such as type K thermocouples, capacitance, frequency, and duty cycle. The large, backlit display allows for easy measurement readings. Extech EX470 multimeters also have audible and visual input alerts.

The Extech EX470 multimeter features a non-contact infrared thermometer to measure surface temperature of objects that are unsafe to contact or difficult to reach. The infrared thermometers have a temperature range of -50 to 270°C (-58 to 518°F). The distance to target ratio is 8:1, and emissivity is fixed at 0.95. A laser pointer aids with aiming.

NIST certification is available for the Extech X470 multimeter and is applicable to all functions except for the IR thermometer.
