Description

Watlow WATROD® Duct Heaters are the best solution for most non-pressurized, air-heating applications. Watlow WATROD® duct heaters are constructed of sturdy 11mm diameter WATROD® heating elements and mounted to 6mm thick steel housing, providing tough, adaptable and, dependable heating.

Watlow WATROD® duct heaters are easily installed in applications requiring a wide range of temperature and air flow combinations. Offering unmatched installation flexibility, Watlow WATROD® duct heaters have significant advantages over gas, oil fired, or open coil electric units. There is no need for flues or fuel lines and the units can be configured with a wide range of wattages, voltages, materials, dimensions, terminals and mounting options. Watlow WATROD® duct heaters are also 100 percent energy efficient. All energy consumed is used for heating and no energy is lost up the flue thus offering cost savings.

By using the popular WATROD® tubular heating element, Watlow WATROD® duct heaters offer unmatched performance. Recommended for applications requiring process temperatures ranging from -20 to 1200°F, Watlow WATROD® duct heaters are capable of generating watt densities up to 40 W/in2.

Watlow WATROD® duct heaters offer features such as 3-1/2 inches of insulation between the elements and the housing which helps keep wiring cooler while reducing heat loss. A long-life Incoloy® sheath around the elements also helps protect them from corrosion and oxidation while protecting the resistance coils from contamination. Watlow WATROD® duct heaters also have a vented general purpose (NEMA 1) terminal enclosure that ensures cooler terminations and a 1/4 inch inside diameter thermowell that accepts an optional Type J or K thermocouple for accurate sheath temperature sensing.

Mounting Watlow WATROD® duct heaters is made easy by a 1/4 inch thick steel flange with 3/8 inch diameter mounting holes that allows for easy bolting to the duct wall. Rigid stainless steel supports prevent element sagging or deformation in various mounting positions.
