Description

The Define Instruments G3 RIO Remote I/O Module is a versatile, highly configurable unit for facilitating communication with PLC's, SCADA systems and H.M.I's. The base model comes with 1x Ethernet and 1x RS485 port, 2x non-isolated 4 to 20mA inputs, and 4x high speed digital inputs. Each unit comes enabled for PC programming via USB interface (USB Bridge Key required, solid separately). Optional expansions to the G3 RIO provide additional inputs and outputs, including up to 8x universal and 8x process analog I/Os, and up to 32x open collector and 32x bipolar digital I/Os.

The process input option is ideal for high channel density analog applications, with inputs suited for connection to 4 to 20mA transmitters or sensors. The universal input option offers full galvanic isolation and universal input type, maximizing adaptability whilst maintaining high level service. Directly connecting the inputs to sensors such as RTDs and Thermocouples eliminates external transmitters, increasing overall performance and reducing application costs. Models also come with the option for hazardous area certification, and up to 3 relay outputs.

The G3 RIO features flexible communication via Ethernet networking capability, as well as the RS485 Modbus port which can be used as a Server or Client. An optional Wi-Fi port can also be added to increase savings by reducing wiring expenses.
