Barriers

Barriers are passive safety devices for electrical signals moving between safe and hazardous areas. In the event of an electrical fault in the safe area, zener diodes limit the voltage that can reach the hazardous area while resistors limit the current. This keeps the electrical energy below the level that can ignite flammable atmospheres.
