Description
The VEGA VEGADIF 85 Differential Pressure Transmitter is a 4 to 20 mA/HART two-wire instrument used for measurement of liquids, gases, and vapors. Typical applications include level measurement in pressurized vessels, flow measurement in combination with differential pressure flow elements, pressure monitoring on filters, and density or interface measurement. The metallic measuring cell acts as the sensor element: process pressures are transmitted via separating diaphragms and an oil filling to a piezoresistive sensor element. The difference between the acting pressures changes the bridge voltage, which is measured, processed, and converted into a corresponding output signal; measuring cell temperature and static pressure on the low-pressure side are also measured and available as additional output signals.
The VEGADIF 85 supports local measurement display and on-site adjustment via the optional PLICSCOM display and adjustment module, or remotely via a PC running PACTware with the corresponding DTM. A Bluetooth version enables wireless connection to smartphones and tablets (iOS/Android) or a PC with PACTware and a Bluetooth USB adapter. Adjustment via remote systems is also possible using a HART Communicator or manufacturer-specific programs such as AMS or PDM. Beyond standard 4 to 20 mA and 4 to 20 mA/HART electronics, purely digital versions supporting Profibus PA, Foundation Fieldbus, and Modbus are available upon request. Double-chamber housing versions can also carry supplementary electronics such as a radio module, a second current output, or a power pack.
Process flanges are made of stainless steel 316L and Alloy 276, with the process diaphragm available in 316L as well as high-resistance materials such as Alloy C276 and Tantalum. The housing is available as a single-chamber or double-chamber version in plastic, aluminum, or stainless steel, with protection ratings up to IP68 with external electronics, as well as IP69K.
