The Shaw Moisture Meters Moisture Sensor is designed for use with the AcuDew Dewpoint Transmitter, certified intrinsically safe, and can be used in either hazardous or non-hazardous areas. A Zener barrier (shunt diode safety barrier) should be used when installing the sensor in a hazardous area.

For applications where a flammability hazard may exist, the sensor can be placed in the hazardous zone, while the Zener barrier and display unit are installed in a safe area. The sensor can be placed up to 1km from the Zener barrier.
