The Ecotec Gazoscan Mini remote methane detector is a handheld, short-range remote methane detector capable of identifying leaks at distances of up to 15 meters. It is intended for use around outdoor gas pipelines, digesters, compressors, and industrial gas sites. Audible and vibration alerts are activated when user-defined thresholds are exceeded, supporting on-site monitoring during inspections.

The Gazoscan Mini uses tunable diode laser absorption spectroscopy (TDLAS) to selectively detect methane. A laser beam is directed toward a target area, where methane in the beam path partially absorbs the light; the reflected signal is then analyzed by the device, with results displayed immediately. The Gazoscan Mini is intrinsically safe, self-calibrating, and allows operators to scan a full 360° area from a single location to identify surface and penetration emissions without direct contact.

The Gazoscan range, including the Gazoscan Mini, provides a methane sensitivity of 5 ppm per meter and a response time of 0.1 seconds. The instruments are designed for long-term field use, with an expected operational life of up to 10 years. User-set audible and vibration alerts enable scanning over wide areas without the need for reflectors, supporting routine inspection and maintenance across gas compression, biogas, and industrial applications.
