Description
The Ecotec Gazoscan Remote Methane Detector is a handheld device that uses Tunable Diode Laser Absorption Spectroscopy (TDLAS) to selectively and accurately detect methane from a safe distance of up to 100 meters. Lightweight, ultra-portable, intrinsically safe, and easy to use, it enables essential workers and first responders to locate leaks on gas pipelines, buildings, bridges, and industrial sites while maintaining safe standoff distances. The system works by projecting a laser beam that is partially absorbed by methane in the gas plume and reflected back to the detector for immediate analysis, with real-time results displayed on the screen.
With the longest detection range on the market and a rapid 0.1-second response time, the Gazoscan delivers high sensitivity down to 5 ppm per meter and requires minimal maintenance due to its self-calibrating design. Bluetooth connectivity allows GPS-linked readings, notes, and photos to be recorded via mobile software, supporting efficient documentation and asset management. Field-proven globally for over a decade, the Gazoscan supports applications from gas transmission to municipal fire services, improving safety, reducing environmental impact, and minimizing gas losses through faster and more effective leak detection.
