The KROHNE OPTIFLEX 1300 C level meter is a universal device that measures distance, level, interface, level and interface, volume and mass of liquids, pastes, granulates, powders, and liquid interface. The OPTIFLEX 1300C offers highly accurate measurements to 35 meters (115 feet) making it ideal for uses in blending tanks, distillation tanks, separators and storage silos across a wide range of industries.
The KROHNE OPTIFLEX 1300C level meter utilizes proven Time Domain Reflectometry (TDR) technology which transmits low-intensity electromagnetic pulses along a rigid or flexible conductor. The time from when the pulse is transmitted to when it is received is equivalent to the distance from the reference point of the device (the flange facing) to the surface of the product. The time value is then converted into an output current of 4-20 mA and/or a digital signal.
The 1300C has higher signal dynamics and a sharper pulse than conventional TDR devices and therefore better reproducibility and accuracy. Dust, foam, vapor, agitated surfaces, boiling surfaces, changes in pressure, changes in temperature and changes in density do not have an effect on device performance. The 1300C can also operate at very low and very high process temperatures as long as the process connection temperature limits are observed.
The KROHNE OPTIFLEX 1300C level meter is available in meter or remote mount versions. A wide range of probes, materials, process connections, electrical connections and agency approvals are available. The device is simple to set-up and navigation is straightforward via the touch screen display.

The Background: The customer, a nuclear energy company, needed to measure the level of water in a vessel which was pressurized to 1200 psi @ 580°F, and had an existing 1" npt fitting.
The Problem: The high temperatures and pressure of this application presented significant challenges. While some level meters are compatible with high temperature and others with high pressures, it is rare to find one that is compatible with both.
The Solution: The Krohne 1300C uses proven Time Domain Reflectometry (TDR) technology and features rugged stainless steel construction making it an excellent choice for applications involving high heat and pressure. The 1300C is highly configurable making it easy to customize to nearly any application.
