Watlow coiled nozzle heaters and mini-cable nozzle heaters incorporate the popular Watlow cable heater into a product specifically designed for heating nozzles such as those you would find on injection molding machines. Some of the design elements used on Watlow coiled nozzle heaters include a five-inch long no-heat tail section which puts the heat only where you need it and eliminates failures in the adaptor area due to overheating. Also, optional externally welded thermocouples provide temperature measurement capabilities.
To ease installation in the tight environment of multiple-gate molds, Watlow coiled nozzle heaters have a low profile design and single tail with dual lead wiring which occupies less space in the wire raceway. A heavy duty axial access clamp provides easy installation.
The Watlow coiled nozzle heater has a low mass which allows quick response to both heating and cooling. Heat is conducted from the entire 360 degree circumference for even heating. Watlow coiled nozzle heaters can generate continuous operating temperatures to 1200°F (650°C) with intermittent operating periods achieving up to 1500°F (815°C) depending on the type of element wire used. Watt densities of 40 W/in2 can be generated.
