Ambient Condition Monitors, or Hygro-thermometers, measure and/or monitor comfort related parameters, such as temperature and humidity though more advanced models can measure or calculate a wider range of parameters. Weather stations provide a handy, simple to use reference for homeowners and building science professionals to evaluate comfort levels inside or gather important information about the weather outside.
Ambient condition monitors, being designed to monitor ambient conditions, do not have any control functions. Some models may have an alarm that can be set for high/low temperatures or humidity but, these are not the instruments to select if your desire is to, say, activate the ventilation system at a preselected humidity.
