The AST4000 pressure sensors are competitively priced, high quality all stainless steel media isolated pressure sensors intended for use in the measurement of gases and liquids compatible with stainless steel. The AST4000 series is suitable for automotive diagnostics tools, industrial, refrigeration, hydraulics, pneumatics, and data loggers. AST4000 pressure sensors and transducers have been designed specifically for applications with demanding price and performance requirements.
AST4000 pressure sensors and transducers offer both millivolt and high level outputs. The high strength stainless steel sensing element in each pressure sensor is machined from a solid piece of stainless steel, resulting in construction that contains no silicone oil, no welds, and no internal O-rings. Measurements are available in gauge pressure covering ranges up to 10,000 PSI. The AST4000's long life and high performance make the pressure sensors ideal for applications needing high accuracy, excellent long-term stability, and trouble free operation.

This product can be used in the following applications:
The Background: Our customer is commercial machine shop that has a compressed air system they use to power some of the shop tools. They are updating the system and are looking for a way to more reliably measure air pressure.
The Problem: The customers old system had a single, old, unreliable analog pressure gauge. The system leaked and the customer was unable to find the source of the leaks. To run the shop tools, it’s important to keep the air pressure between 80 and 120 psi.
The Solution: We suggested the customer use AST 4000 pressure sensors and a panel meter. By including a sensor on each line, the customer can narrow down the source of leaks. The AST 4000 provides an accurate measurement of air pressure and can even be used with a process controller to have the compressor accurately maintain enough pressure in the lines at all time.
