Honeywell Analytics is strongly recommending that all GasAlertMicroClip XL and GasAlertMicroClip X3 gas detectors manufactured on or before October 5, 2016, be upgraded. Click here to see Upgrade Offer.
Why should I have my GasAlertMicroClip XL and GasAlertMicroClip X3 gas detectors upgraded?
Honeywell Analytics has made improvements that better immobilize the battery and provide additional protection during a drop or impact. All newly manufactured detectors and replacement PCBs come complete with the upgrade in place.
Why am I sending this to Instrumart instead of Honeywell Analytics?
Authorized BW Distributor Service Centers will be performing the Upgrade modifications and managing the Upgrade replacements. Instrumart is an authorized BW Distributor Service Center.
How do I know which to choose, Free Upgrade or $300 Trade-In? You'll want to consider the age of the unit and the sensor(s). The free upgrade includes installation of a new PCB board and a bump test which the unit must pass before being put back into service. If a sensor is old the unit may not pass the bump test. A replacement sensor and the required calibration may cost between $200 and $275, making the $300 trade-in cost for a new X3 unit with a 3-year warranty an attractive choice.
The age of a unit can be determined by the serial number. The MCXL and X3 serial numbers begin with KA4 followed by the year manufactured. Example: KA416-1021152 is from 2016. Any MicroClip XL or MicroClip X3 with a serial number before KA416-1200000 is eligible for the upgrade.
