Carlo Gavazzi CA18CL series capacitive proximity sensors have a sensing distance of either 8mm for flush mounted units on metal or 12mm for non-flush mounted units. Carlo Gavazzi CA18CL series capacitive proximity sensors are available with either 4-wire DC or 2-wire AC output with both make (NO) and break (NC) switching. Housed in grey M18 polyester with a 2m PVC cable or M12 plug, Carlo Gavazzi CA18CL series capacitive proximity sensors are ideal for use in level and plastic machinery applications.

Measuring the Speed of Conveyor Belts

The Background: Our customer is an industrial facility that moves raw materials to the production area via a conveyor belt system.

The Problem: The facility is undergoing an efficiency review and they want to accurately measure the speed of all conveyors in use.

The Solution: We recommended Carlo Gavazzi CA18CL series capacitive proximity sensors. This unit paired with a rate panel meter and correct programming yielded a display with a FPM reading and output to another device for feedback control.
