Ultrasonic Thickness Gauges
Ultrasonic thickness measurement is a widely used non-destructive testing method for measuring the thickness of a material from one side. The gauge measures the round-trip transit time of an ultrasound pulse sent by a transducer through the material under test. Common applications include metals and a variety of materials such as plastics, ceramic, and glass. Thickness range, the type of material, temperature, geometry, and required accuracy dictate the choice of transducer and the gauge.
