Accurate with Two-Phase and Perfectly Clean Liquids

The TransPort PT878 Ultrasonic Flow Meter's patented Correlation Transit-Time™ digital signal processing (DSP) technique greatly increases its signal-to-noise ratio for accurate, drift-free flow measurement in liquids that contain a second phase of entrained solids or gas bubbles. The Panametrics PT878 operates in these and other difficult applications where conventional transit time flow meters fail.

The GE Panametrics TransPort PT878 also accurately measures flow rate in perfectly clean liquids containing no "scatterers," where Doppler flow meters cannot work. Suited for all standard transit time applications, the TransPort PT878 Ultrasonic Flow Meter can be used in many other applications that would prevent other transit time flow meters from working.

Flow Transducers and Clamping Fixtures

Using clamp-on ultrasonic flow transducers, the GE Panametrics TransPort measures flow rate through metal, plastic, or even concrete-lined pipes, without penetrating the pipe wall. From ultra-pure water to corrosive and toxic liquids, the TransPort PT878 Ultrasonic Flow Meter ensures non-contaminating, leak-free measurement with drift-free accuracy. With no moving parts to wear or orifices to clog, the GE Panametrics TransPort can't be fouled and requires no routine maintenance.

A wide variety of ultrasonic flow transducers are available to the TransPort PT878 Ultrasonic Flow Meter with different operating frequencies, materials of construction, operating temperatures, and sizes to meet the requirements of rugged industrial environments.

To hold the clamp-on ultrasonic flow transducers in contact with the pipe, a variety of clamping fixtures are available to accommodate different pipe and transducer sizes. The GE Panametrics TransPort uses a variety of attachment methods including chain, metal strap, Velcro® strap, and magnetic clamps.
