Hedland SE Series

Polysulfone variable area flow meters with Flow-Alert Flow Switch. Replaces the EH55-SA, EH55-SB, and EH55-SC

The Hedland SE Series polysulfone variable area flow meters are rugged yet low cost. These industrial quality variable area flow meters can be used to automatically trigger an alarm/control circuit if the flow exceeds or drops below preset limits.

Variable area flow meters from the Hedland SE series are available with either AC or DC powered latching switch modules or the new reed switch modules.

These variable area flow meters can be used in applications in which the temperature ranges from 32°F to 250°F. They are pressure rated for 325 psi/22.4 bar maximum for liquids.

The Hedland SE Series' variable area flow meters can be used in applications for the flow measurement of water, petroleum products, and emulsions. Choose the port size and fitting material depending on your application. Six port sizes are available between 1/2 to 1 inch with brass, PVC, or stainless steel fittings. Five port sizes are available between 1-1/2 and 2 inches with brass or PVC fittings.

Latching Switch Options

The AC and DC powered Flow-Alert™ flow switch modules in the Hedland SE Series variable area flow meters consist of a latching relay circuit housed in a sealed polypropylene enclosure. The modules have a normally open dry relay contact that can be used to directly control alarms, warning lights, relays, or be used to interface to a PLC. The relay will be latched on as the magnet inside the flow meter passes by the module and remain latched on until the magnet passes in the other direction or power is interrupted. The set point is adjustable from 0 to 100% of full scale.

Reed Switch Options

The reed switch modules in the Hedland SE Series variable area flow meter are also housed in sealed polypropylene enclosures, but these modules do not provide the latching function like the AC and DC powered units. When the magnet inside the flow meter comes within proximity of the module, the reed switch will change state. The set point is adjustable from 0 to 100% full scale. Two (2) reed switches may be installed on a single flow meter to provide low flow and high flow set points.
